If you enjoy having a a cocktail every so often, keep your cash at home if you set out to do your drinking in a casino. I’m serious. Clean out your pocketbook, your billfold, and leave all cash, charge cards and cheques at home. Only take whatever cash you intend to spend on refreshments, tipping and whatever pocket change you anticipate to lose and leave the rest behind.
Pessimistic? Not at all. Just realistic. You might have a profit after a boozy night out with your buddies and be lucky enough to catch a long toss at a smokin craps game. Keep that story because it is as brief as it gets if you consistently drink alcohol and wager. These activities just do not go well together.
Keeping your cash back at the hotel might be a tiny bit dramatic, but precautionary measures for drastic actions is essential. If you wager to profit, then do not consume alcohol and bet. If you are able to afford to be wasteful with your $$$$ without a concern, then drink all the no charge alcohol your stomach can handle, but do not carry charge cards and cheques to throw into the mix of chasing squanderings after your inebriated head loses everything!
